The objective of this project was to increase spawning productivity and natural walleye populations of Christie Lake and the Tay River by adding substrate and structure to existing and new spawning areas.

The Community Stewardship Council of Lanark County received funding from the province of Ontario’s Species at Risk Stewardship Fund to conduct a road mortality survey of wildlife sightings on Lanark county roads.

This was one of our Council's first projects. In partnership with the Lanark Fish and Game Conservation Club, this project installed a permanent drop inlet structure to maintain an acceptable water level, protecting the ecological values within the Park Lake watershed.

Since 1999, our Stewardship Council has sponsored the Ontario Stewardship Ranger (OSR) Youth Employment Program.

In 2007, our Stewardship Council worked in partnership with the Eastern Ontario Model Forest and Human Resource Development Canada to sponsor a forestry works crew.
