Despite the proliferation of tree-planting programs in Canada, only limited consideration has been given to the potential impacts of increased forest cover on water resource management at the basin or sub-basin scale.

Forests Water Climate CoverForests, Water and Climate Change is a discussion paper which deals with the important roles that forests play in modifying  river-flows (and lake-levels). The  lead author Paul Egginton is a member of Community Stewardship Council of Lanark County. The paper and the associated meetings behind it were prompted by field work and earlier discussions here at the Stewardship Council.
